We use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand how readers use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate location and referring website.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive information such as financial details, government ID numbers or health information. Please do not include these in messages or comments.
2. Why we use it
- To reply to your questions and messages.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you.
3. Consent
By submitting the contact form or posting a comment, you consent to us processing the data you provide for the purpose described above. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them for:
- Essential functions, such as remembering your name and email when you choose to save them for comments, and keeping the site fast through caching.
- Analytics, through Google Analytics, to measure readership.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the site.
5. Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the site, and only as much as they need:
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
- Google, for analytics.
- Gravatar (Automattic), if you comment, to show your profile picture. A scrambled version of your email address may be sent to check whether you have a Gravatar.
Some of these providers may process data outside India. Where this happens, it is done under the provider’s own privacy and security commitments and in line with Indian law. We may also disclose data if required by law, a court order or a government authority.
6. How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for as long as needed to answer you and for up to 24 months after that, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment is published. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings.
